  • Account data. When you sign in with Google or Apple we receive your name, email, and a unique provider ID. We do not receive your password.
  • Usage data. Pages visited, referrers, device and browser type, and approximate location derived from IP. Used to improve the product and detect abuse.
  • Content you submit. Comments, ratings, gear claims, and profile fields you choose to add.
  • Cookies. Required for sign-in sessions and basic analytics. We do not run third-party ad networks.

How we use it

  • Operate the site, authenticate you, and personalize what you see.
  • Measure traffic and product performance in aggregate.
  • Prevent spam, fraud, and abuse.
  • Respond when you contact us.

We do not sell your personal information.

Affiliate links

Some outbound links to retailers are affiliate links. When you buy through one, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. The retailer, not Geared, processes your purchase and handles your payment information.

Sharing

We share data with infrastructure providers that run the site (hosting, database, authentication, analytics). They process data on our behalf under contract. We may also disclose information when required by law.

Retention

We keep account data while your account is active. You can request deletion at any time and we will remove your account and associated personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

Children

Geared is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
