Our editorial take on the Autel Robotics EVO II Pro 6K Rugged Bundle V3
The Autel EVO II Pro V3 remains a formidable tool for professional creators, delivering impressive 6K video and detailed 20-megapixel stills from its capable 1-inch Sony sensor. Its performance is reliable and the rugged build quality inspires confidence in the field. A significant advantage is the excellent smart controller, whose integrated screen is a welcome feature for pilots who prefer not to tether their smartphone to operate their drone. The whole package feels like a serious, professional workhorse that can handle demanding shoots.
However, the platform is undeniably showing its age. While a strong competitor upon its release, the market has evolved, and the EVO II Pro V3 now faces stiff competition from newer, potentially more advanced models. Its price point feels high for a drone in the 1-inch sensor category, especially when rivals may offer more for a similar investment. It is a solid aircraft, but it occupies a difficult position, feeling due for a significant price reduction or a full-blown successor.
- Excellent 6K video and 20MP still image quality
- Robust, confidence-inspiring build
- Smart controller with a bright, integrated display
- Captures 12-bit DNG RAW photos
- A capable alternative to DJI drones
- Feels dated compared to newer competitors
- High price point for its sensor class
- The overall platform is due for an update

If you're already flying another Autel drone, or are looking for a complete kit with a screen built into the controller, the Autel Robotics EVO II Pro 6K Rugged Bundle V3 is a solid alternative to DJI's Mavic 3. However, it's rather expensive for a drone with a 1-inch sensor, and is due for an upgrade given its competitors.
Providing professional filmmakers and photographers with some serious imaging capabilities is the Pro 6K V3. Coming stock with an all new 20-Megapixel (MP) complementary metal-oxide semiconductor (CMOS) 1" Sony sensor, this drone can capture up to 6K Ultra HD Video in up to 29.97 frames per second (fps) as well as still images at up to 12-bit DNG.
