Our editorial take on the Freewell All-Day Lens Filter Bundle for Skydio 2 Drones (8-Pack)
Getting the most out of the Skydio 2's impressive camera requires more than just skilled piloting; it demands control over light. This is where a quality set of neutral density (ND) filters becomes an essential, not optional, piece of kit. From our perspective, the Freewell All-Day 8-Pack stands out as a robust, professional-grade solution that directly addresses the needs of serious drone videographers. The build quality is excellent, featuring high-grade optical glass that maintains color neutrality and sharpness, while the lightweight frames ensure they don't interfere with gimbal performance.
The true value of this bundle is its comprehensiveness. With a range of ND strengths, including hybrid polarizer options (ND/PL), it equips a pilot for nearly any lighting scenario imaginable. From the low light of dawn to the harsh glare of a midday sun, this kit provides the means to lock in a cinematic shutter speed and achieve smooth, natural motion blur. While competitors like PolarPro also offer excellent options, Freewell's reputation for quality combined with the sheer versatility of this 8-pack makes it a benchmark product for elevating the Skydio 2's video capabilities.
- Comprehensive 8-pack covers a wide variety of lighting conditions
- High-quality optical glass provides excellent image clarity and color neutrality
- Includes hybrid ND/PL filters for reducing glare and enhancing saturation
- Lightweight 'Gimbal Safe' design does not impede drone operation
- Secure fit and easy to mount on the Skydio 2's camera
- Represents a significant additional investment on top of the drone itself
- The full 8-pack may offer more filters than a casual user needs

Freewell’s new filter kits for the DJI Mavic 4 Pro include CPL, Split ND, Split ND/PL, Glow Mist, and LPR filters. Designed for better exposure control, reduced reflections, and creative effects, the filters are built with Gimbal Safe Technology and optical glass to ensure image quality and flight stability. Multiple bundles are available for different shooting needs.
Filters are common in landscape photography. They help photographers craft images that wouldn’t be possible otherwise.
It's cheaper, smaller and much more versatile. The hope is that it will be the much-needed DJI rival we deserve, and I'm excited about it enough to say right here that it is. But, and yes there are some buts, it still has some edges that need smoothing out.
