Our editorial take on the Rokinon XEEN CF 24mm T1.5 Pro Cine Lens (EF Mount)
The Rokinon XEEN CF 24mm T1.5 Pro Cine Lens is a wide-angle prime designed for professional cinematography, featuring a lightweight carbon fiber housing. It offers full-frame coverage and is built to support up to 8K resolution, with optics optimized for skin tone reproduction. The T1.5 maximum aperture suggests strong low-light performance and shallow depth of field control.
This lens, despite its robust cine-specific features like 0.8 MOD gears for focus and iris, remains relatively compact and light for its class. Its 95mm front diameter and 9.8-inch minimum focus distance provide flexibility for various shooting scenarios. The 200-degree focus rotation allows for precise adjustments.
While offering a premium build and specific cine functionality, the absence of electronic communication and image stabilization means operators will rely solely on manual control and camera-based stabilization, if available. Its fixed 24mm focal length and Canon EF mount position it for specific productions prioritizing consistent, high-quality wide-angle capture on compatible systems.

- Cine-standard 0.8 MOD gears for focus and iris control
- Optimized for skin tone representation

I really like these lenses. They are built for production, in robustness, ease of use, and consistency.
Rokinon has announced two new carbon fiber-constructed cine lenses: a 16mm T2.6 and 35mm T1.5. Both are part of the XEEN CF line.
Recently I’ve been able to shoot with the new XEEN cinema lenses and I’m happy to say I’m very impressed. Here’s my first impressions.
The Xeen CF series is based around the current Rokinon Xeen prime lenses. According to Bill, the CF series are lighter and smaller. The barrel construction uses some carbon fiber, hence the name CF.
