Voigtlander 40mm f/1.4 Nokton Classic MC Leica M-Mount Lens, Black/Chrome (43) Review

The Voigtlander 40mm f/1.4 Nokton Classic MC is a compact, fast prime designed for Leica M-mount rangefinder cameras. At 40mm, it sits comfortably between the classic 35mm and 50mm focal lengths, offering a versatile field of view for street photography, environmental portraits, and everyday shooting. The f/1.4 maximum aperture provides strong low-light capability and shallow depth of field when desired, while the multi-coated optics are built to deliver the Classic series' signature rendering.

Available in both black and chrome finishes, this lens is aimed squarely at M-mount shooters looking for a lightweight, affordable option without sacrificing speed. The 40mm focal length can be an acquired taste, but many find it a sweet spot for walk-around use. As a used offering from KEH in Excellent or Like New condition, it represents a practical entry point into the Voigtlander M-mount lineup for those who want character and aperture without the Leica price tag.
