The Leica Summilux-TL 35mm f/1.4 ASPH is a fast prime designed for Leica's APS-C mirrorless cameras with TL and SL mounts, offering a 52.5mm full-frame equivalent focal length. Launched in late 2015, it targets shooters who want a classic normal focal length with shallow depth-of-field capability in a relatively compact package weighing 428 grams.

The lens features a sophisticated optical formula with 12 elements in 8 groups, including four aspherical elements to control distortion and aberrations. The f/1.4 maximum aperture and nine-blade diaphragm promise smooth bokeh, while internal focusing and full-time manual override provide handling flexibility. At 40 cm, the minimum focus distance yields 0.11x magnification, useful for closer compositions. However, the lens lacks weather sealing, image stabilization, and traditional control aids like an aperture ring or distance scale, keeping the design minimalist but less versatile in challenging conditions or manual shooting scenarios.
